Description

We invite you to our home, Castelou Pelies, which is situated on the banks of the Lot River in the beautiful Aveyron department of South West France. Castelou Pelies overlooks the majestic Lot River which flows serenely at the bottom of our peaceful private garden and in any season gives you stunning views of the Lot Valley. Castelou Pelies is an old manor house which was built from the remnants of a 15th Century castle that stood on the same site. We are situated on the borders of the Lot and Cantal and it is in an ideal position for you to explore the beautiful surrounding area of the Lot and Cantal departments. The medieval village of Conques, which is a Unesco World Heritage site, is just 8 kms away and the area has many ancient picturesque villages and towns for you to discover. The City of Rodez, the capital of the Aveyron, is a 40 minute drive away and has daily flights from Stansted with Ryanair. The highest bridge in the world, the Millau Viaduct is just an hour and a quarter by car as are the beautiful and spectacular Gorges of the Tarn, Dourbie and Jonte. The Aveyron, still unspoilt and little discovered by tourists, is a haven for ramblers and anglers or just touring the area in your car where you will find very little traffic. For the more energetic, there are many outdoor activities such as canoeing, horseriding, cycling or you can simply relax and have a swim in our private pool.
